Shefit Shefiti (born 19 February 1998) is an Albanian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Renova in the Macedonian First League.[1]
Club career
editShefiti was promoted to Shkëndija senior in the 2015–16 season, making his debut on 28 February 2016 as a late substitute in the 3–0 win at Bregalnica Štip.[2]
In the 2017–18 season, Shefiti made 19 league appearances as Shkëndija won the championship for the second time in history.[3] He also played in three cup matches as the tournament ended in conquest, meaning that the team has completed the domestic double.[4]
International career
editMacedonia
editFormerly an Macedonia youth international, Shefiti's career begun with the under-18 side, making his debut on 26 March 2016 as a late replacement for Darko Dodev in a 3–2 loss to Finland.[5] After that, he went on to make several other appearances in friendlies.[6][7][8]
Later in May 2016, Shefiti traveled with the under-19 squad under Jetron Nesimi in Cyprus to play in two friendly match versus the home national team.[9] He was used only in the second match, playing as starter in the match which ended in a 1–1 draw.[10]
Shefiti continued to be part of under-19, participating in the qualifying round of 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.[11] He played three matches, one as starter with Macedonia finishing last in Group 11.[12]
Albania
editOn 29 May 2018, Shefiti received a call-up from Albania under-21 team manager Alban Bushi for the friendlies versus Belarus.[13] He started the first match on 5 June, and scored from a tap-in in an eventual 3–2 win at Elbasan Arena.[14]
