Stories and Projects

His stories focus more on today's level of technology taken to a greater extreme. In his more extensive stories, Humanity utilizes advanced fusion power, VASIMR engines and large rotary station and ship components, as well as domed enclosures and subterranean dwellings, to perpetuate humanity. Explanations are given at some points as to the workings of some of these concepts, as Lyons's target audience is to young teens as well as adults.
Most of his stories deal with small characters surrounded by huge groups, polities, economies and churches. These characters are influenced by the decisions of these larger masses and, constantly, influence those masses in turn.
Barak Lyons was born to Gleah and Michael on October 8, 1988, in the Anderson Mercy Hospital. He attended Amelia Elementary School in 1993 and Meade Elementary in 1995. At all other times he was homeschooled, and graduated in 2007 as a home schooler.
His father, Michael, was a member of the US Army during the first eleven years of Barak's life, moving frequently from post to post with family in tow. Because of this, home schooling was necessary for Barak. They moved from Ohio to San Angelo, Texas, then to Fort Ord, California, to Fort Meade, Maryland, and then to Fort Lewis, before moving back to Ohio after his father was honorably discharged from the Army.
The family moved to Mount Orab, Ohio in 1999 and then to Batavia, Ohio in 2002.
