Edgardo Rudnitzky
editEdgardo Rudnitzky (Buenos Aires, 1956) Composer, sound artist, and percussionist.
He has carried out an intense international career as sound artist as well as composer and sound designer in the contemporary dance, theatre and films.
SInce 2003 lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
Biografía
editStudied composition in Buenos Aires under the direction of composers Carmelo Saitta and Gerardo Gandini and Percusion at Conservatorio Nacional de Música (Argentina) with the profesor Nestor Astuti.
He has focused his work on the 'inevitable' fusion between the intangible and the tangible: despite the seemingly immaterial nature of sound, it is treated in his work as a sculptural, tangible material.
This approach has led him to develop works in various formats and media: installations, performances, concerts, projections, while maintaining an intense career as a composer and sound designer in theater, film, and dance, parallel to his work as a sound artist.
He represented Argentina, alongside Jorge Macchi, at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. In 2012, his work Octopus was part of the exhibition honoring the centenary of John Cage in New York, "Notations: The Cage Effect Today."
His works have been heard/seen at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, DE (2023); Humboldt Forum, DE (2024); Schlossmediale, CH (2024); SoundCinema Düsseldorf, DE (2021); "Más allá del sonido" MUNTREF, AR (2016); Bienalsur Fundación Migliorisi, PY (2019); Invisible Body, Exploratorium Berlin, DE (2024); "Silenzi d'Alberi," Villa Brandolini, Veneto, Italy; Cicadas, Naturkundliches Museum Halle, DE; among others.
