The first issue that stands out to me within the article for language attrition is the organization. The first section, following the introduction is a brief summary of language attrition’s academic origins. The information in that section, although obviously related to language attrition, does not do much to provide insight about the condition. I would even question if that type of information is important enough to include, especially as one of the first bits of information. I would think it to be beneficial to try to reword and “dumb” down a little bit of what is being said. “However, the overall impact of these factors is far less strongly pronounced than what has been found in SLA.” This sentence just needs to be fixed The language that occupies a lot of the article appears to be a lot of linguistic jargon. Someone who’s never taken a linguistics class but wants to know more about language attrition might have a difficult time understanding this article.
