Profile of the visionary E.P.C.WEST
Mr.Ernest Percival Curtis West @ Master West had an amazing and intriguing life. He was born on 18 November 1933 into one of the richest and most distinguished families in Burma. His mother was a member of the Shan Royal Family, His Father a Major in the British Military and His Grandfather a Colonel.
From a very young age his parents realised he had the ability to see into the future. This worried and frightened his family and they sent him, Aged 2 years, to a Buddhist Monastery to learn the disciplines involved in becoming a monk. He was here for four years where he learnt about meditation, posture, tolerance, chanting and rhyming. At the age of 7 he completed his initial induction and was sent to an 'Ordinary School' to gain a traditional, as against spiritual, education.
With the outbreak of the Second World War 11, He returned to the monastery to continue his instruction, but was there only six months before his family was forced into hiding. He began an underground fight against the japanese occupiers. He fought for Shan lndependence together with the kerens and later was caught by the Burmese army, tried for treason, mass murder, bank robbery, arson but was freed because their was no evidence. He was subsequently deport to England in 1952 and then called up to join the Royal Air Force.
After the war he returned to Burma to complete his training as a high priest. ln the ninth month of the teaching he had a revelatory experience, causing the other monks to worship him as their master. A title he still goes under. He was ordained as their high priest and he has made it his life's work to do good, charitable works and cultivate a new order, An Order Of Love And Peace.
