The Coats Passive Antenna Principal, discovered by telecommunication pioneer Jeremy Coats, is a popular non-invasive means of extending directional or two way communication at frequencies greater than 800 megahertz.
Coats, a native of Selma, Alabama, discovered a simple and cost effective means of indirect inductive coupling of small wavelength antennas to unshielded, twisted pair, Category 5 telecommunication cable.
