Ursula Meier is a franco-swiss film director born in Besançon on 24th June 1971. Her short film Des heures sans sommeil received the Prix Spécial du Jury at the Festival of Clermont-Ferrand and the Grand Prix International at the International Toronto Film Festival in 1998. She studied film and television direction at the Belgian film school, l'Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD) in Louvain-La-Neuve, between 1990 and 1994.
In 2013 she was a member of the jury at te 35th Moscow international film festival.
