Rhythm & News Magazine Rhythm & News Magazine (1994-2002) served the Hudson Valley-area of New York State, and was distributed at locations in NY, CT, PA and NJ. Founded by the husband and wife team of George A. Fletcher and Lisa Fairbanks, Rhythm & News was unique from other publications in that it helped to elevate local and regional acts by featuring them along side of original interviews with international recording stars. Fletcher and Fairbanks first met at Poughkeepsie, NY music store Rainbow Music in the late-1980s, later teaming up as musicians for live touring with the successful regional rock band, Drezdon Blacque.
After closing up the publication, Fletcher concentrated on his career as a blues guitarist and Fairbanks (n/k/a Elizabeth Fairbanks-Fletcher) obtained her law degree and opened her own law practice, Fairbanks Fletcher Law PLLC. They have one son Maxwell, born in 2010.
