Hunter Leonard is the founder and creator of Blue Frog Marketing, with over 25 years experience in sales and marketing. He is a multi-award winning strategic marketer with 6 awards from the Australian Marketing Institute - the country's leading professional body in marketing. Hunter served on the Australian Marketing Institute Board in 2010.
Hunter was born in Canberra, ACT in 1965 to Jean and Bernard Leonard. His father was a '10 pound Pom' coming out to Australia in 1951 on board the SS Strathaird. Hunter's maternal grandfather was Donald George Burns - the chief engineer of the State Brickworks in Homebush NSW, who received a Imperial service medal from the Queen in 1976.
Hunter went to school at Excelsior Public School and then Baulkham Hills High School, being a contemporary of Jayne Jagot - Federal Court Judge.
He studied science at Macquarie University before embarking on a career with the ACT Government as an Assistant Research Officer.
Returning to Sydney when his father was diagnosed with cancer, he found a job in sales at Merck Sharp & Dohme, quickly moving through various sales position and into marketing, where he found his life's passion.
Hunter worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 10 years, before moving into Healthcare Advertising and then founding Blue Frog Marketing in 2001.
He has consulted on strategic marketing to over 50 different companies, from $2m to $2b in turnover and is highly regarded by clients and industry colleagues alike for his left field thinking, ethics and accomplished strategic planning skills.
Hunter is also the author of several marketing books, including 'Marketing has no off switch' published in 2009.
He has been married to Nicole Frances Leonard since 1991.
