Hello!
My name is Jadine, and I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Toronto studying Political Science and International Development Studies. At this moment in time, I am working toward the completion of my fieldwork for my undergraduate dissertation on the Gender Gap in the Indian Editing community.
My interests are diverse, as is typical of a wandering 22 year old. I currently devour any material/media/text/etc. on Canadian politics, feminism, gender studies, identity creation and negotiation in cyberspace, human rights, law and, increasingly, Internet governance. I am not an expert, or anywhere near well-informed, on any of these topics, so I can't say that I'll play much of a role as a contributor; however, I strongly believe in the purpose and processes of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects, and I find them a fascinating research site. Here's hoping that one day I'll cultivate the needed knowledge to participate actively in editing!
If you would like to know more about my research, you can visit my highly unstructured, predominately thought-dump research blog at http://ohresearchmyresearch.blogspot.in/. As my research is just in its beginning stages, I do not yet have any research findings to present on the blog. Do check back sometime at the end of June-beginning of July if you are interested in seeing how the research is getting on.
Also, please feel free to email me at jaylanns@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments about my research.
