Hi, I'm Bonyriver340. I'm a semi-retired manufacturing engineer with lots of job experience in manufacturing and programming, particularly CNC and CAD/CAM.
I spent about 25 years in machine shops as a machinist/programmer before getting solely into just programming CNCs which is my niche. After this my specialty was in the engineering fields installing and maintaining various machines used for manufacturing.
Since my retirement I have been consulting on my own in my spare time. I troubleshoot and consult when I'm needed but usually pursue my many hobbies and pastimes.
I do some technical writing as well and enjoy putting in my 2 cents worth from time to time. I'm always welcome to help where I see a need.
I have a special interest in mathematics of any kind and enjoy solving problems of this type. It's a good exercise for anyone. Keeps you sharp mentally.
My personal motto is: Keep your eyes and ears open and you will learn something new each day. I have found this to help me to listen. You can't learn any more than you already know by talking all the time. If you don't know what you are talking about then let someone else talk who does. Take it all in and decide what is factual or not. If you can share your own knowledge about a particular thing feel free to share it with someone else at every opportunity possible. Readily convey shortcuts that you have learned from others that are willing to share their own insights. Pass it on!
Maybe some day I will write a book on these things. For now though, venues like Wiki are at our disposal and can help us to disseminate each other's views on how we see the world around us.
If you make a mistake, own up to it and get on with your life. Learn from your mistakes but try to learn from others first to avoid them whenever possible.
I encourage you to add your comments to subjects and not people. Be considerate of others at all times. Share the Golden Rule. Have a nice day!
