Cynthia Pelayo is an American writer.
Born in Puerto Rico, she moved to Chicago as a toddler.[1][2] She earned degrees from Columbia College, Roosevelt University, and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.[3] She's written short stories, poems, and novels for teens and adults.
Santa Muerte was nominated for the 2014 International Latino Book Award for Best Young Adult Fiction.[4] Into the Forest and All the Way Through was nominated for the 2020 Bram Stoker Award for Best Poetry Collection.[5][6][7][8] Children of Chicago, was nominated for the 2022 Bram Stoker Award for Novel and may be made into a film.[9]
