James Thomas Wright[1] (born 2 December 2004) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Primera Federación club Real Unión, on loan from Premier League club Aston Villa.
Career
editEarly career
editWright started his career in the Everton academy, before joining Manchester City. He joined Aston Villa's academy in 2021.[2] He signed his first professional contract with Aston Villa on 7 July 2022.[3]
On 14 January 2024, Wright made his first appearance in Aston Villa's senior team, appearing on the bench for a Premier League match against Everton. On 25 January, Wright singed a contract extension.[4][2]
Loan moves
editOn 16 August 2024, Wright signed for Primera Federación club Real Unión, a sister club of Aston Villa, on loan until the end of the season.[5]
