Risk Factors for Borderline Personality Disorder
editRisk factors for borderline personality disorder (BPD) include trauma or stressful life events, poor parenting, inconsistent parenting, socioeconomic deprivation, and co-occuring psychiatric conditions. This is based upon a systematic review [1] This systematic review also has identified a sensitive genotype that appears to put individuals at a greater risk for BPD when those with this genotype are exposed to environments.[1]
