A Hidden Enemy is a 2013 children's fantasy novel written under the pseudonym Erin Hunter. It is the second book in the Survivors novel series.

editA Hidden Enemy was released in hardcover and ebook format on 7 May 2013, the same day The Empty City was released in paperback.
Critical reception
editKirkus Reviews gave A Hidden Enemy a starred review, which was also given to The Empty City; the review said that the story was driven by "well-rounded characters, deep folklore, and difficult problems without obvious answers".[1] Booklist said that the sensory details helped the story by bringing a "sharper focus" and "a greater feeling of reality", but that the "abrupt" cliffhanger ending would leave all but avid fans "jarred by the lack of a satisfying conclusion".[2]
