This is an essay. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints. |
This page in a nutshell: If a page contains a high amount of broken links (10% is usually too much), the page may be speedily deleted. |
Broken links are annoying. VERY ANNOYING. Some pages with just a single broken link have been marked for speedy deletion. This is intentional, this essay says that if a page has a red-blue ratio of 1:10 or more, the page will be speedily deleted. The essay's owner, Brentman1575 has already marked 100,000 pages for speedy deletion because of a broken link. There aren't many Wikipedia users, much less administrators. One of them is Brentman1575. He had already taken care of 99.9% of the broken links, and there are still thousands. We need your help!
But I don't want to delete pages!
editI know you just want to remove the broken links, but there are too many of them. To mark a page for speedy deletion, add {{db|Too many broken links}}
to the page. Once an administrator notices this template, they may delete it or keep it. If they decide to keep it, do not re-nominate the page. Doing so is considered edit warring and may lead to a block.
