Maria Montessori
editMaria Montessori Maria Montessori was born August 31, 1870 in Chiaravalle, Italy to a former soldier father(Alessandro Montessori) and a wealthy, well educated and read mother(Renide Stoppani). Described as a precocious child, she took in all that cosmopolitan Rome had to offer including its art, libraries and museums later enrolling in a technical school at age thirteen.
