Add to lead

There are approximately 4000 clients of Haute Couture. Some pieces can take up to 700 hours to create.[2] Only 14 designers hold the title of being Haute Couture. People must develop relationships with the couturiers to become buyers of Haute Couture. If clients are important enough, couturiers will hold showings and fittings at the clients home.

edit

Take all the information about the Chambre Syndicale out of the Terminology section and make it it's own subtitle. Add the list of members into this subtitle as well.

Le Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine was founded in 1973. This is the male equivalent to the Chambre Syndicale.[3]

New Subtitle: Paris Fashion Week

edit

Paris Fashion week is the most important week for Haute Couture because it is when they are able to show all their new pieces. The first Paris Fashion week was in 1973. But the first official fashion week to display haute couture was in New York City in 1943. There are multiple fashion shows and fashion weeks held every year but the most notable fashion weeks are held in Paris, New York City, London and Milan.[6] They are held in February and March to showcase the autumn and winter collections, as well as in September and October to showcase the spring and summer collections. Although each of these fashion weeks are notable only Paris Fashion week can show Haute Couture because of rules that are in place by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. Each collection must contain 50 pieces and the collections will be shown to the public twice a year, in January and July.[2] The pieces produced by Haute couturiers can cost over 20,000 dollars.

Add to Fabrics

New subtitle: Lamé

edit

Lamé is a fabric made up of metallic yarn that is lightweight. This material is usually silver or gold but can occasionally be copper. The fabric is either woven or knit together to make clothing.[7]

New subtitle: Lace

edit

Lace is a fabric that is made into different patterns using yarn or thread. It can be made with many different types of materials including linen or silk. Lace can be manufactured by machine but lace made for haute couture clients will be done by hand. The most popular kind of lace is Chantilly, which can be very expensive because of how delicate and detailed it is.[8]

Add photo of lace into the fabrics subheading.
