Siamese Crocodile

Since I am doing some major editing to the Siamese Crocodile page, I'm not drafting anything in this sandbox...just directly editting the existing page and adding links within the page, and adding Siamese Crocodile to List of endangered species in Vietnam, Endangered Species list under Critically Endangered, Wildlife of Cambodia, List of species native to Thailand, Saving Planet Earth,Wildlife of Laos, Wildlife of Vietnam, List of Laos-related topics under Fauna of Laos, Indonesia under biota and environment

The Siamese crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis) is considered one of the least

studied and most critically endangered crocodilians in the world. Although few wild populations remain, more than 700,000 C. siamensis are held on commercial crocodile farms in Southeast Asia. Despite conservation concerns, many aspects of C. siamensis life history remain poorly known, particularly with regards to its reproductive biology.

CONSERVATION EFFORTS and status of species in Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malasia, Myanmar, Vietnam
The Wildlife Conservation Society has new program dedicated to the issue of saving this endangered species and its wetland habitat.

Illustration Ideas

1. Geographic map of previous Siamese Crocodile habitat and the current;y reduced habitat
2. Illustrate the restoration of wetland habitat efforts occurring in the various countries in Southeast Asia
3. Graphically illustrate (in numbers) the area of land this species and other endangered species need for successful breeding versus the reduced area that this species has available for habitat
