Map of Poland, LGBT-free zones declared (in red) (as of August 2019)

As of August 2019, around 30 different municipalities declared themselves to be LGBT-free zones, including four voivodeships in the south-east of the country:[1][2][3][4] Lesser Poland, Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, and Lublin.[2] Left-wing political party Razem described these areas as "no-go zones" for LGBT people.[5][6] Liberal politicians, media, and human rights activists have compared the declarations to Nazi-era declarations of areas being judenfrei (free of Jews).[7][8][9][10][11] In Multiple LGBT community members have stated that they feel unsafe in Poland.[12]

Some people (from both sides) began to call these administrative areas LGBT-free zones and snowball have started rolling down a hill... And now "there are" no-go zones in Poland.--BthereDthat (talk) 19:20, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

LGBT-free zone motions are made by Polish municipalities,[1][2] powiats (counties),[3] and voivodeships (provinces)[4] who declare the regions under their control as free of "LGBT ideology"[5] in reaction to the declaration.[6] While unenforceable, activists say the declared zones represent attempts to exclude the LGBT community.[2][4] Activist Olga Kaczorek called the declarations "a statement saying that a specific kind of people is not welcome there."[2]

In March 2019, the town of Świdnik in eastern Poland passed a resolution rejecting "LGBT ideology".[7]

As of August 2019, around 30 different LGBT-free zones have been declared in Poland, including four voivodeships in the south-east of the country:[1][8][9][3] Lesser Poland, Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, and Lublin.[8] The four Voivodeships form the "historically conservative" part of Poland.[2]

Powiats adopting such measures include: Białystok County, Jarosław County, Lesko County, Lubaczów County, Mielec County, Puławy County, Ryki County, Świdnik County, Tarnów County, and Zamość County.[10]
