Exposed is the debut studio album by American recording artist Kristinia DeBarge. It was first released on July 28, 2009 through Island Def Jam imprint Sodapop Records. After beginning to record at age twelve, and competing in American Juniors, DeBarge began to develop Exposed with her mentor, "Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds." DeBarge worked with a variety of writers and producers on the album, including Babyface, who was co-executive producer, as well as, Evan "Kidd" Bogart, and Ryan Tedder, among others.

While the album's title seemed eye-catching, DeBarge said that the meaning behind it was less-suggestive. The singer told MTV News that she chose the title because she felt as if the work was introducing herself to the world, and wanted people to "get to know Kristinia." DeBarge also said that the album would give fans a chance to see her different sides, calling most of them "empowering."
