Run's House is an American reality sitcom. The series revolves around the life of hip-hop pioneer Joseph Simmons of Run D.M.C., and his family. Aired and distributed by MTV Networks, the show is executive produced by Russell Simmons and Sean Combs, among others. The show is documented primarily in their Saddle River, New Jersey mansion, as well as other scenes in offices and venues in New York and Los Angeles.
Background
editAccording to Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons, he was approached by MTV to take part in a reality show, and the he suggested the family concept, commenting "I had already thought this would be a good idea. My show is my ministry." Simmons also made it known that his family was on board pretty easily, all eager at the thought of being on television.
Premise
editThe series scenarios mostly involve "father knows best" situations, revolving as what Simmons called their "structured" lifestyle, as he "lecture and lecture." Simmons also stated that no footage is initially captured beforehand.
