Westminster State University is a federally-funded university located in the state of Westminster in the country of Kent.

Governance

Board of Regents

The governance of the University is vested in the Board of Regents. The Board consists of eight members. Four Regents are appointed by His Majesty the King and four are elected in national elections. Regents serve five-year terms. The Board elects a President and other officers. The Chancellor of the University serves ex officio as a Regent.

Chancellor

The Board of Regents appoints a Chancellor of the University. He serves as the singular, overall head of all University operations. The Chancellor appoints the Deans of each of the academic Colleges and all Vice-Chancellors established by the Board of Regents. He has other powers granted to him by law and by the Board of Regents.

Deans

There are two types of Deans. The Dean of Students serves as the overall Dean of the University. The Deans of the Colleges serve as the heads of their respective Colleges and as the President of the College Councils.

College Councils

The College Councils assist the Deans in the governance of their respective Colleges. They consist of the three senior Professors in each of the Colleges.
