Some thoughts on the 2015 Arbitration Committee Elections. I have followed pretty much the same process as in 2011 (see that page for more details and thoughts): I read all the candidate statements, then the questions and answers (as of around 23:00 on 22 November 2015), and made an initial decision. I then read through the other voter guides as a sanity check in case anything obvious had been missed, and then cast my votes. I have put a summary of my intended vote here, with brief notes. Will update here with timestamp after voting. Carcharoth (talk) 01:25, 25 November 2015 (UTC) Voted at 01:35, 25 November 2015
Candidates who are current or former arbitrators
edit- Casliber - have worked with him in the past, based on that I will support.
- GorillaWarfare - was on the committee with her for one year. Will support to retain some institutional memory.
- Kirill Lokshin - am not convinced ArbCom will be best served with Kirill returning. Will oppose
- LFaraone - was on the committee with him for one year. Will support to retain some institutional memory.
- Thryduulf - the impression I get is that he struggles to find time to do the role justice. There are other former or current arbitrators I would prefer to support. Will oppose.
Candidates who are not current or former arbitrators
edit- Callanecc - impressed with him as a clerk. Not sure about arbitration. Will support with reservations.
- Drmies - impressed with his demeanour and attitude. Will support.
- Gamaliel - not sure due to strong views expressed as an editor and in Signpost editorials. Will oppose.
- Hawkeye7 - great content editor. Arbitrator? Probably not. Will oppose.
- Hullaballoo Wolfowitz - not sure. On balance, I will oppose.
- Kelapstick - previously unknown to me. On balance, I am prepared to support.
- Keilana - impressed with her content editing. Will support to bring diversity to committee.
- Kevin Gorman - not impressed with his approach to various matters. Will oppose.
- Kudpung - not sure, probably not. On balance, I have enough candidates to support already, so will oppose.
- Mahensingha - unknown to me. From what I've read, not enough experience. Will oppose.
- MarkBernstein - no, not suited to being an arbitrator. Will oppose.
- NE Ent - might be best off not being an arbitrator, but will support.
- Opabinia regalis - impressed with their attitude. Will support.
- Rich Farmbrough - not supporting, but am impressed that he stood for election. Will oppose.
- Timtrent - unknown to me. On balance, I have enough candidates to support already, so will oppose.
- Wildthing61476 - unknown. Sensible answers, but prefer to support other candidates. Will oppose.
