User:Carcharoth/Article incubator/List of British royal weddings
This is a listing of available information on British royal weddings, working backwards from the 21st century. Initially, it will concentrate on the weddings of those who became king or queen (or are expected to become king or queen), but may also cover the marriages of other children of the reigning monarch, starting with the marriages of the heirs apparent or presumptive. Basic information includes: names and titles of those marrying; the date of the marriage; the venue of the marriage; details of the marriage. It should be noted that some of the marriages listed below are neither "British" (some are German, for example) or "royal" (some took place before those concerned could properly be considered part of the Royal Household), and some of the marriages by others would have gained more attention and been "state marriages", but changes in the line of succession would have changed that. Prior to James I, the monarchy and the weddings are no longer of monarchs or future monarchs of British, but are English. There is also the marriage of a former king included (the former Edward VIII).
