Ilocos Norte is one of the most visited place in the Philippines because of the its wonderful travel destinations and also known for some good tourist spots. Aside from its beautiful nature views, beaches and churches, Ilocos Nortes is also increasing its popularity of their man-made wonders; one of which is the Madongan Dam. Madongan Dam is situated in Barangay San Marcelino, Municipality of Dingras Ilocos Norte. Even though the place is already popular, still there is no available public transportion to reach the place; so the only way to see this wonder is thru a private vehicle. Despite the lack of availability of public transportation to reach the place; you won’t mind of it anymore once you reach Madongan Dam because of the wonderful view of the Dam.

The entrance fee to the Dam is only 10 pesos and rental of a cottage would cost only 500 pesos. There are no stores available around the area so goers are encouraged to bring their own food. However, there are already some vendors roaming around offering some snacks.

Tourists are allowed to swim and enjoy the cold water falling from Madongan Dam. To totally enjoy the view of the place a short hike would give you a view of the mountain ranges surrounding the province. If you love to swim and at the same time loves to appreciate nature views, Madongan Dam is a good place for you. Always remember let’s keep our nature clean. It’s more fun in the Philippines!
