She/They. Enjoying the sun and spring cherry blossoms!

Amateur historian. Undergraduate degree in History and Sociology from the University of Washington. Special interest in Pacific Northwest radical and labor history. Love finding and sharing obscure pieces of knowledge that slipped through the cracks of the internet.

Fairly new to the Wikipedia community. I've been editing/making additions for about a year, but I am still familiarizing myself with templates, etiquette, and basic Wikipedia policies. If you notice a mistake - please assume good faith. Wikipedia can be overwhelming sometimes for new editors, and I've had experiences where moderators can be real jerks, and quick to assume the worst. It makes for a very negative and off putting experience, and makes an already daunting process of trying my best to get more familiar with Wikipedia, even harder, and a lot more negative. It turns a lot of people off.

I've had other experiences where editors can be very kind. I enjoy in person meet ups. I work a full time job, and sometimes it can take a couple of days for responses if you leave a message on my talk page. I am not paid to be here, nor is any of my work biased by any personal affiliations, rather I hope to make Wikipedia a better resource, especially for obscure knowledge - that may not be available online.

Cascadia Wikimedians User Group, an independent group of Wikimedians, is the user group which serves as the regional affiliate for the Cascadia region of North America, including the Northwestern United States (Oregon and Washington, also known as the Pacific Northwest) and British Columbia. Its mission is to support Cascadian Wikimedians in their Wikimedia-related endeavors and to partner with local organizations in their use of Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia Cascadia organizes and promotes meetups so that Wikipedians can have conversations with each other in person. There are many different kinds of meetups: backstage passes, conferences, edit-athons, social events, talks, unconferences, etc.
