Cassandra Renee McKay, "Joy in Our Town" TBN/WGTW Talk Show Host, Radio On-Air Personality, Publicist
Cassandra Renee McKay was born in Newark NJ. She is a Television and Radio Personality, and Public Relations professional. Raised in Alabama, Cassandra returned to New Jersey after graduating high school to pursue a career in broadcast. She is a graduate of Caldwell College, where she graduated cum laude, earning a degree in Communications/Sociology.
After graduating, she began her pursuit towards a broadcast career working as an audience/member services coordinator for NJN (New Jersey Network) public broadcast station. She also began to work in radio as an on air personality for WIMG 1300am reaching 500,000 listeners in Mercer, Burlington, Western Monmouth and Ocean counties NJ, as well as Bucks County Pennsylvania. Shortly after working on the radio, Cassandra was offered the opportunity to host a talk show that would broadcast live on WIMG and simulcast to local television station WZBN Channel 25 reaching an additional 300,00 in Trenton, Hopewell, Ewing, Lawrence & Lambertville NJ.
While continuing to work on her Media/Broadcast career, she became interested in public relations and social services. In addition to her broadcast jobs, Cassandra began working on public relations for non-profit organizations such as the Metropolitan Trenton African American Chamber of Commerce, The Housing Network of NJ, and Center for Family Services. She also worked in social services as a coordinator for an abuse prevention program PALS (Peace a Learned Solution) and a behavioral assistant for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Family Therapy and Consultation Services.
In 2008 she began working in the newsroom for NBC 10 Philadelphia. She also worked with their promotions team. In 2009 Cassandra received an offer from TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network) to host their public affairs broadcast "Joy in our Town" reaching 2.8 million viewers in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas, Southern New Jersey and parts of Maryland and Delaware.
Currently, Cassandra works as a Talk Show Host for TBN, Promotions Assistant for NBC 10, Group Facilitator and Outreach Coordinator for Wiley Christian Adult Day Services, and an On-Air Personality for WIMG (radio and television). She also continues to contribute her time and efforts to non-profit/profit organizations such as I Dare to Care, Tentmakers, and Corporate America as a public relations consultant.
Cassandra resides in NJ with her loving husband Demetrius McKay(September 2007). The two attend Fresh Word Ministries in Cherry Hill, NJ where Cassandra serves in multiple roles as a part of the performing arts and hospitality ministries.
