Dalupiri Island’’ is the name of the tiny island some 4000 meters west of the north-western tip of Samar Island in the central eastern part of Philippine archipelago , with a total land area of 27,000 m² (0.6 acres). It is the island that gave name to the district. The island lies within San Bernardino Strait, the body of water that connects the Pacific Ocean and the Philippine Sea.
