History
editIn 1976, Adventist Health System had purchased Smyrna Hospital.[1] In 1995, Adventist Health System created a joint venture with Emory Healthcare to operate the hospital.[1]
On July 30, 2014, it was announced that Emory-Adventist Hospital would close on October 31, 2014.[1][2] It was the first hospital in the Atlanta metropolitan area to close since 2009.[1] All total during the joint venture the two hospital networks contributed $22 million to the hospitals budget.[1]
