Henk van de Ven was the mayor of Albury and was elected in 2015.
Early life
editHenk van de Ven was born in the Netherlands in 1950 and migrated to Australia in 1958 with his family as unassisted migrants. He moved to Albury in 1985 to establish the local branch of Enzed which is still operational today.[1][2][self-published source?]
Political career
editvan de Ven was first elected to Council in 2004 and then served four terms as Deputy Mayor.[1] On 28 September 2015 he was elected mayor.[1][3][4][5] Since then he has undertaken mayoral duties including opening the Murray Art Museum Albury with federal member for Farrer, Sussan Ley[6][7] In the September of 2016, vab de Ven lost the mayor-ship to Kevin Mack.
