StarPop StarPop is a next-generation smartphone app for the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The app uses augmented reality technology to identify which star the user is looking at through the phone's video camera, and then superimpose an image of that celebrity on top of the star on the phone's screen, as if the celebrity were standing in front of the user. The user can then have friends or family jump into the scene with the celebrity to make it appear as if they ran into the celebrity on the sidewalk and took their picture with them. The app allows the user to share this "celebrity encounter" with their social network as a memento of their trip to Hollywood.
