Charles Allen Davis Sr. Apex, North Carolina

When Charles Allen Davis was born on February 24, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, his father, Laourice, was 26 and passed in 1966 and his mother, Eva, was 72 and passed in 1995. Both of his parents worked for the US Customs Service in Baltimore. His father was a Chief Petty Officer in the US Naval Reserve.

Charlie married Peggy Janette Clarke in 1970, He has one son Charles A. Davis Jr. (buddy) with Peggy Janette Clarke. He married Karen Anita Hanfman in 2000. Charlie has two siblings Barbara Cossentino who lives near Nashville, TN. His other sister Sarah Ramsey lives in Baltimore, Md. in Middle River.

Charlie has lived in Baltimore, Md., Hampstead, Md. and in Walkersville, Md. and moved to Apex North Carolina in 2006. He had a great love for his Grandparents Oliver and Eva Roberts who passed in the 1960’s.

Charlie started in working career as an electrician doing basic electrical work. Then went to work for a company in Hunt Valley Md. This company made corrugated printing equipment and he worked for them for many years as an electrical engineer. He then went to work for Lockheed Martin in Baltimore as an Information Technology manager. Lockheed Martin sent Charlie to North Carolina in 2006 to help on a contract in trouble and he decided to stay in North Carolina. He was now at home where his ancestors began their lives in the United States. He left Lockheed in 2009 and worked for a local and very large Tobacco company as their VP of IT where he finally retired in 2015. Charlie returned to the workforce in 2020 as the VP of Managed Services for Red Tractor Provisions in Raleigh, NC who provides various provisions to restaurants, hotels and home use.

During Charlie’s working career his visited over 30 different countries and liked Costa Rica and South Africa the most. Charlie spent more than 4 years working in various countries in Africa.

Charlie is a private pilot and has flown over 500 children for the Experimental Aircraft associations “Young Eagles” Program. He owned a 1998 Cessna 182S which was sold when he retired in 2015. He has flown a few folks of notoriety, such as Alexandra Cousteau while she was filming part of her Blue Water Planet Tour in North Carolina, and Kay Hagan, US Senator.

Charlie also flew many pollution control missions for the Neuse River Keepers looking for river pollution.

Charlie has also been an Amateur Radio (Ham) Radio operator since 1963. He has been noted a master restoration technician for Antique radio both home use radios and communications equipment used by Ham Radio operators.

Charlie had five (5) dogs to whom others have said he loved more than anything in the world. Fonzy his first dog as a Keeshond, his second was a chocolate Labrador named Chris who gave birth to 24 puppies one of which she would carry around everywhere. That dog was Roxanne a chocolate Labrador. Roxanne passed in 1998 and Chris passed in 2002. Charlie found a pound puppy named Baby, who was a beagle mix. Baby passed in 2010. Prior to the passing of Baby Charlie found another chocolate Labrador which he named Rose, she passed in 2015.
