Usage

- Usage notes
- Do not attempt to add a title; dreams do not have titles.
- For dreams that have been published elsewhere (such as on the web or in print) cite those directly instead of using this template; see cite web, cite book and cite news. If you are unsure whether a dream has been published, consult the list of dream diaries.
- As Wikipedia relies on facts, do not use dream interpretation in this template; cite the content of the dream exactly as it happened.
- Acceptable dream types: anxiety; daydream; hypnopompia; lucid; nightmare; rapture. Per repeated discussions (March 2014), (February 2016), (April 2016), (September 2021), (January 2023), wet dream should not be added as parameter.
- For dreams that did not occur in a fixed location, simply specify as such; for instance, use "Example Airlines Flight 362" for a flight instead of the country the plane was flying over at the time. Likewise for sea vessels; use the name and sail code (if available) instead of using "international waters" etc.
- For recurring dreams, use the
recurring_nameandrecurring_noparameters.
- Per this December 2017 discussion, the "nationality" parameter has been removed.
- Per this June 2020 discussion, the "sleep disorder type" parameter has been removed.
