Born in the United States in 1979, I'm a software engineer working at VMware in Palo Alto, California. Previously, I developed and released Unicode support for PayPal. I graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz with degrees in Computer Science and East Asian Studies in 2001, and moved to Tokyo the same year. I speak Japanese fairly well, and although I can read pretty well, writing kanji without a computer to aid me is a little tricky.
