UWCSEA East is an International School located in Singapore and it is part of a larger network of schools that share a combined mission, of "education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future."[1] The implementation of MUN as a part of the school helps then further this mission as Model United Nations brings delegates together to debate upon resolutions around the pressing issues in today's world. MUN teaches important skills like, public speaking, debating, writing, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership.
The UWC MUN Program follows the THIMUN procedure, which is widely recognized and respected around the globe[2]. Delegates are to take on the role of a diplomat and represent different Countries or Individuals depending on the committee. Delegates are made to research international affairs and gain awareness of global issues before drafting a resolution.
The UWC MUN Program is split into 3 categories, High School, Middle School, and Junior School. Only the High School and Middle School Programs host yearly MUN Conferences where schools from all around the world are invited to attend.
