Basant Dhar Diwan is a well known personality in Chhattisgarh. He is known for his big contribution in the division of the state Chhattisgarh & his big lively heart. He was a very sensitive man but had a charming & bold personality. Born in Raipur, Diwan did his schooling from Limha & a part from Rajkumar college, Raipur and graduation from J.J SCHOOL OF APPLIED ARTS. He was a great Artist & poet. He wrote many poems(Kavita). He was the eldest son of Sri. Shyam Dhar Diwan.
