History

edit

Chicago Meat Authority was founded in 1990 by President, Jordan Dorfman. Upon graduation from college, Dorfman went to work at M&M Packing, an old-style meat company. When M&M closed it's doors in 1990, Dorfman immediately founded Chicago Meat Authority to insure supply to his customers. Today the company employs close to 400 men and women across three shifts. Located in the historical Chicago Stockyards, Chicago Meat Authority has expanded their physical structure four times, now occupying 80,000 square feet.[1]. The company has grown from a $6 million dollar organization to a $140 million company in its 25th year of operation, with hopes of further expansion in the future.[2] Chicago Meat Authority is repeatedly featured in Crain's List Chicago's Largest Privately Held Companies.
