About me:
I’m currently a full time running start student and finishing up my last year of high school. My major is business, but I have decided I’m interested in getting into the cosmetology program. When I’m not doing school or working, I find myself up on the mountain, snowboarding. I also share a love for traveling and painting, but enjoy writing a lot as well! I tend to enjoy writing non-fiction, mostly stories about my life and challenges I’ve gone through. Lastly, I love spending time with my family and friends. Being with my friends and family brings me so much happiness and laughter! Laughing can improve immunity, help regulate blood sugar levels, and improve sleep. My Wikipedia Interests:
I’m not very familiar with creating and writing through Wikipedia. I’ve always used it for researching and finding knowledge for my writing pieces, but haven’t created anything through it. I’m excited to be able to use something new and learn more about it. I’m interested in publishing my writing onto here, and I’m looking forward to putting out information for others to read.
Article Evaluation
For the past ten years I’ve groomed my Golden Retrievers, it all started when I showed them at dog shows. I had to learn how to groom them and maintain them on my own. I would love for others to be just as knowledgeable, so I checked the Grooming Golden Retrievers page and found that there was a lack of information. This uncovered a great opportunity for me to add some knowledge I know and researched.
Information:
Although the information about Golden Retrievers is good and plentiful, the information about grooming them is minimal. The information about the Golden Retrievers are more biased and opinionated, but not the grooming part. They covered a lot of information about the dogs duties and how it changes around the world. This article also holds some good information about the dog's fur coat, but not enough. In the grooming section, they talk more about their fur coat rather than tips and ways to groom them.
Citations:
The citations for the grooming section are in need of some improvement. There is only one citation from a Canadian magazine in 2010. It’s hard to say if these are even reliable sources because they’re pretty outdated. There is no link to click on, so I can’t go straight to the magazine. This person must have gotten it straight from the magazine rather than online. This citation will most definitely need some updating, and this page will need more citations that are reliable.
Additional Information:
I was able to find a different page about dog grooming with a lot of information, but it’s not singled out to each and every breed. It gives enough information though to cover the subject and some other Information could be added to narrow it down to be just about golden retrievers. This should be combined with the golden retriever grooming section or at least as an external source.
Summary:
Overall, this page needs some serious work. The information about the dog is plentiful and good with reliable sources, but there is very little information about the actual grooming process. The information that was given for grooming should be in the other section listed “coat and color.” It talks about the dog's coat and the frequency of grooming and some grooming information, but definitely not enough. Although this page lacks good information and sources, there was no biased information on the dog grooming or any grammar and spelling errors.
