The Next Prince (ข้ามฟ้าเคียงเธอ; RTGS: Kham fa khiang ṭhoe, lit. 'Across the Sky Beside You') is a 2024 Thai romance drama television series, starring Chawarin Perdpiriyawong (NuNew) and Pruk Panich (Zee), based on the same title two-volume novel by writing duo Ceo ft. Ennice, which was published between 2022 and 2023.[1]
It will air from ... to ... on One 31 every ... at ... (BMT) for 14 episodes.[1]
Synopsis
editIn the kingdom of Emmaly, the ruler is chosen through a fencing tournament among the three main noble families. As the time approaches, the current king sends Charan, head of the palace guards, to retrieve his heir Khanin Assavadevathin, who grew up abroad without knowing his true identity.

Production

The series sees Chawarin Perdpiriyawong and Pruk Panich reuniting as main leads in a TV production after Cutie Pie,[2] and the characters of the original novel were based on the two actors.[3]
The Next Prince was announced on December 13, 2022 as part of Domundi's 2023 series line-up, with a budget of more than 30 million baht.[4] Together with the announcement, a short pilot teaser was disclosed to the public.[4] An 8-minute pilot trailer was subsequently released on March 31, 2024.[5][6] After a worship ceremony held on July 18,[7] filming started in Thailand on August 19.[8]
Thomas Teetut Chungmanirat and Kongpob Jirojmontri had initially been cast as Calvin and Jay, respectively, but withdrew on August 30, 2024 due to scheduling conflicts between filming The Next Prince and Your Sky, another Domundi series in which they starred as leads.[9] On October 30, Net Siraphop Manithikun and JJ Radchapon Phornpinit joined the production as their replacements.
