Chris Kurtz is the Senior Systems Architect for Knowledge Enterprise at Arizona State University. His time is spent designing and architecting Enterprise Research systems for the University, including a Research Network, Research Datacenter, and Secure Research Environment.
Chris is a recipient of the 2020 Humans Advancing Research in the Cloud (HARC) / Cloud Research Support Engineer (CRSE-2) Grant from the Pervasive Technology Institute at Indiana University.
Previously he administered Splunk for the University, and was an active Member of the Splunk Trust for several years. Before working with Splunk he was the Systems Manager for the Mars Space Flight Facility at Arizona State University.
He lives in Mesa Arizona with his wife and animals, and in his free time is actively involved in Steampunk and is experimenting with electronics as a budding Maker.
Chris has a great fondness for Don Quixote, going so far as to have Picasso's Don Quixote as a tattoo, and owns the domains rocinante.com and xoff.org
Recently, Chris has been active in the Steampunk community, and has appeared in Professor Elemental's music video "All in Together"[1] and The Jeff Hunt Band's "Caravan"[2]
