My name is Chhaya Kolavalli and I'm a masters student in sociocultural anthropology at the University of Kansas. I graduated with my BA in anthropology in 2012, also from the University of Kansas. Though my background is in archaeology, my interests now lie somewhere between applied and medical anthropology. Specifically, I'm interested in food and alternative food systems in America. I've participated in several field schools offered through KATP, interned with the Archaeological Association of India, and most recently I interned with Our Local Food - a program within the Kansas Rural Center.
