Maxwell Quartet
The Maxwell Quartet is a British string quartet. The quartet was established in 2010, at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, Scotland. The current members of the quartet are Colin Scobie, George Smith, Elliott Perks and Duncan Strachan.
The Maxwell Quartet was selected as Enterprise Music Scotland residency artists in 2011. In this role, in addition to concert tours of Scotland, the Maxwell Quartet commissioned a new work by composer Anna Meredith called "A Short Tribute to Teenage Fanclub". In 2014, the quartet was selected as Park Lane Group artists, and in 2015 they were Tunnell Trust award winners. In 2015 they were semi-finalists at the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2016 they were finalists in the UK Royal Overseas League Chamber Music Competition, and in 2017 they were semi-finalists in the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition, Japan.
