I'm a college student aspiring to become a radiology tech because I've always found the medical field fascinating. My hobbies include doing art, writing, and playing video games. I love animals and admire tattoos which are permanent markings on the skin made by ink and needles. I detail boats for a living and enjoy it very much.

My Wikipedia interests

I used Wikipedia a lot for researching when I was in high school. Sometimes, I still browse it to further my education on anything I am interested at the moment. I would like to edit, or add any materials regarding my interests, such as art and tattoos and provide as much accurate information as I can.

Article Evaluation

I've been interested in tattoos ever since my best friend introduced it to me about five years ago. I'm an artist so I've always admired unique tattoos and different kinds of styles and eventually hope to be able to perform some myself on people. Specifically, I enjoy a tattoo style called "New School" so I decided to look it up on Wikipedia to see what kind of information I would find and maybe even edit it if needed. I visited the New school (tattoo) article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: citations, how current it is, and thoroughness on the subject.

Citations

Although the page is not very long, I did notice that there are an impressive amount of citations for such a specific topic. There are about fifteen citations that all have working links. The citations are all from reliable and informative sources as well, with most of them resulting from books. There are probably more citations and sources that could be added that are more current, but overall I was satisfied with what was provided.

Current

After reading the Wikipedia page, I decided to do some research on the topic to see how up-to-date the New school (tattoo) page is and generally found nothing new. This page is current and up-to-date information-wise. The citations are all as current as possible, although there are some newer sources listed from more recent years that could potentially be added to this article.

Thoroughness

This Wikipedia article's completeness and structure seems to be accurate. It has the general information that anyone would need to know about New school tattoos such as the origin, characteristics, and changes on tattoo artist secrecy. The article can definitely go more in-depth with some information such as how New school tattoos affect the tattoo industry today and possibly on the tattoo artist's secrecy.

Conclusion

Overall, I will say I am impressed with this Wikipedia page. It listed a generous amount of reliable citations for a very specific topic and the page has remained current and up-to-date, but could add some newer information from more recent years. It thoroughly covers the subject and only lacks some depth on some of the topics that could use some more facts or information. This article provides a good amount of information to anyone who is interested in learning about New school tattoos.
