What happened

This is my first entry to Wikipedia and maybe I made a mistake.

I can\'t see what might be obscene about \"Hornby\'s sister is married to Robert Harris (novelist). [1]\"

However, I have found that I hadn\'t confirmed the user account belonged to me when I made the entry - might this be the problem?

I seem to have successfully made the equivalent entry to Robert Harris\' page.

The mass delete was made to make the article conform to Wikipedia guidelines (in addition to general decency). The body commentary and narration of this article is heavily leading, suggestive of advertisement, and likely a NPOV violation; the suspicious and value-charged narration was removed; the cited material whose implied verification does not appear on the page which is cited was removed, in addition to a circular citation (the extolling commentary on the company\'s philanthropy links to a page whose content was prepared by the company itself, thus NPOV violation).

I guess the Bot thought the reference to rape was some obscenity.

I added a link to an article I intended to write Around the World (game), a drinking game to the Around the World disambiguation page. The game is related to Fuck the Dealer, another card based drinking game.

The name of the related game contains a so-called obcentity, so the bot\'s flawed huristicts deemed the edit to be spam or vandalism. This is not the case.

Drinking games, due to thier liberal nature commonly have names that conservative individuals or systems may consider obscene. A prime example being the extreemly popular game known as Asshole (game), a drinking variation of the Oriental game of Dai Hin Min.

The programming of the bot displays a nievity in it\'s implimentation and should consider \"obscene\" language a sign of vandalism when such language is a link to a legitimate Wikipedia entry.

I was adding that, in a Midsummer Night\'s Dream, there are parallels between Puck and Loki. I suppose that there was a problem with my typing in \"ass,\" (I was referring to the part where Bottom\'s head is changed into a donkey\'s), but that\'s the word they use throughout the whole play. I didn\'t mean for it to be offense. I\'ll gladly change it donkey or mule if that makes readers more comfortable.

Thanks! =)

The edit I did on the article was mostly fixing spelling and grammatical mistakes. The reason so many charcters got deleted is because the wording in the original article led to unneccessarily long paragraphs. Like the warning at the top of the article said:

\"The quality of this article may be compromised by wording which promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information.\"

I also rearranged the article and divided it into different sections so certain information that was stated twice was removed (eg. The article talked about the CAN 2008 in 2 different paragraphs...but after I rearranged it there was a subtitle \"International career\" under which this information went.

I also removed some irrelevant information (eg.Information about the football player\'s career that was under \"Personal Life\"

I was looking at Special:LongPages, and this 1 MB long article that seemed to be about nothing relevant to most people (thus not being able to be that big) really caught my attention. I went on and looked it up. There had been some... eh... strange vandalism; the page had over 500 copies of the same content. I undid this and got autoreverted by ClueBot. Well, article history\'s there to back me up :)

I deleted the Moody Broadcasting Network (MBN) link in its entirety because WPOS-FM is no longer an affiliate of Moody. They (WPOS-FM) changed affiliations last October (2007).

Why should completely errant information continue to be promulgated? They are now affiliated with VCY as I indicated.

I rewrote a nice overall description. I am not an employee of WPOS-FM however I have been a faithful listener since 2000. I feel confident that what I wrote here is factual.

WPOS runs a very small operation being a non-profit. I felt I was doing a favor by revising \"ERRANT\" information with more timely, factual data. I also listed the station\'s general manager for corroboration of my info.

Obviously, he should have the final say. Running Moody info is not doing WPOS or Moody any favors on the WPOS-FM page in the Wikipedia.

I hope you will tend to this matter effectively.

Thank you.

As a political article, this page is being subject to revisions by the subject\'s political opponents which are attempting to imbue with a particular slant. My revisions were intended to remove the more controversial material and leave a simpler, still-informative, but less biased article.

Discussion

  • Not a false positive. A similar IP has been blocked for 3RR violations and making similar edits and biased, childish edits to the candidate's opponents article. Editor seems to whitewash all information relating to immigration from the page (censoring), while POV-pushing, soapboxing, and using WP as a battleground after 3RR warnings. The bot captured it as vandalism due to the fact that the song title has three exclamation-marks in it.

This is the true name of the song as given on back of the original pressing of the vinyl it appeared on.

The article John Degnan is currently in need of review for being in violation of WP:BLP and WP:NPOV policies. The article was giving undue weight to an issue in Degnan\'s career, casting Degnan in a particular light. The edits I made condensced this particular issue (regarding a hiring center for day laborers) into a new section in which I summarized the issue.

The article was out of date, unbalanced, and confusing to read. I deleted redundant information, and replaced it with links to more fitting pages holding that information. I removed some subjective content, unnecessary content, indulgent passages, and opinionated lists. I assume ClueBot automatically reverts edits that change so much of an article, but simply reworking the existing text was not a realistic option.

Last night, an IP editor User:60.241.248.249 replaced the article on Synthetic fiber with the contents of an article about cheese, noticably not being reverted by any bot account. As this was on my watchlist, and had been in a vandalised state for over seven hours, I decided to undo the edit, at which point I was reverted and warned for potential vandalism. The bot\'s edit was then undone by an established user, which was fortunate, as I didn\'t relish the idea of going into a revert war with an automated mechanism which didn\'t know it was in the wrong.

The article is false. Upon clicking on \'external links\', i recieve the following message:

Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.

Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners\'\'

Reuters and BBC News archives make no references to this supposed crime. Therefore, it seems plausible to have this article removed, as its sole intention is to decieve and create a false account of what happened during the horrors of the 1990s and the disintegration of Yugoslavia.

  • It\'s very difficult to understand what is going on with this page. Many months ago this page was unorganized, badly written, badly linked with no verifiablity. Over the past several months there has appeared a much better written, seemingly accurate, reasonable contribution. In the last week this contribution has been blasted away and again replaced with a poor contribution, leading to a \"Speedy deletion\" notice. Confusing matter more, it has been split into two pages.
  • Disambiguation may not make sense as it is obvious from the various links that both \"Thom Wolf (pastor)\" and \"Thom Wolf (educator)\" are the same person.
  • For now I will undo all these changes and request another editor to provide feedback.

What happened

I reverted an edit that was an entire rewrite of the aricle. The new version was substantially longer only because of an extensive list bible quotes. As noted in the talk page, the new version did not match the title of the article and failed to replace relevant information in the previous article. Excluding the bible quotes, the remainder of the rewrite was simply removing most of the existing content.

What happened

User: HopeChrist has wrongfully placed a \"ClueBot\" edit bot against my edits. All the edits that I have made on the \"Living Stream Ministiry\" Wikipedia article are FACTUAL and written from a NEUTRAL POINT OF VIEW (NPOV). I have included information on this article that is UNBIASED and cited from RELIABLE SOURCES. I would appreciate if Wikipedia would deter the user HopeChrist to resorting to these sort of tactics out of edit warring. It appears that user HopeChrist and I are trying to reach consensus on this article, however this user does not want to allow any information that could possibly be viewed as negative regardless if the edits are FACTUAL, UNBIASED, and written from a NPOV. Thank you!!!

Discussion

I would like the owner of this "ClueBOT" to help and participate in the discussion on Talk:Living Stream Ministry page. I believe it should not be a long and complex one. The User:Angrygirl's words above are false and are lies. This User:Angrygirl, is not a good-faith editor. Your opinion will be much valuable in this regard. Thanks. The bot seems to be reverting purely on the basis that a large amount of data has been deleted and that the edit came from a an IP address, not from an account.

The edit I made was to delete a large amount of data (unref\'d, I might add) that had been copied and pasted from a daughter article (Death of Ayrton Senna) into the parent article (Ayrton Senna). This is a valid edit and was explained in the summary. As I\'m sure you\'re aware, WP:Summary Style encourages us not to repeat material at length in the main article.

Cheers
