What happened

Hi - I recently edited a couple of sections on Robbie McEwen\'s page which were deleted I believe due to the word \"poof\" being in there. I am Robbie\'s brother and was editing his nicknames as what is there is actually incorrect (the only ones to call him \"pocket rocket\" are the unimaginative media). As he has other personal nick name I was adding these in one of which is \"poofo\" (also added Cribbens and Frippo as his other nicknames with friends)

I had also edited some info about the family as it incorrectly stated his daughter\'s name was \"Alana\" when in fact it is \"Elena\" (Alana is his sister in law aka my wife!)

Whilst I understand why it was picked up and edited due to some people taking offence at the word poof (harden up I say!) it was in fact a legitimate edit of this article and I feel incorrectly edited.

Would be great if the edit could stand and the warnings be removed from my account.

Thanks

Cam McEwen

I corrected the album chronology in the Metallica S&M album infobox. But since the correct required the addition of a \"bad word\" (simply one of the words in the title of the previous album) I was issued a ClueBot warning for vandalism when clearly it was a good faith edit. Could that warning be removed from the history of my talk page?

The Reason for the reversion is inaccurate. \"Suck\" was not an obscenity in the context of my edit, nor should obscenities even be removed if they are direct quotes of someone, real or fictitious - this is highly contextual, and does not appear to be a form of editing that can, as yet, be performed by a crawler program.

I removed a new section added yesterday as it was not encyclopedic, was unreferenced, contained personal opinions, may include copyrighted information, and is written in the first person.

The text was clearly copied and pasted from elsewhere.

Removal of a large section is clearly potentially vandalism, but is there scope to detect that the text deleted is actually reverting a recent large addition?

Changed it back to version before someone copy and pasted the physics section multiple times, as well as removing pretty much all of the other content. Then got reverted by the bot.

Typing in the summary box also seems to make the bot ignore the edit (at least on a statistically very insufficient sample size), which isn\'t very good for catching actual vandalism.

ClueBot reverted an internal reference to the work being discussed on the page in question. The reference is a link to the Works part of the page which links to a page that contains a short description of the two printings of the book and places where images of the original may be obtained. The reference may be retained or omitted as you desire since it is called out in the Works section. There was no replacement, only the addition of a href. Perhaps this is a matter of style. If so please excuse the error by a newbie.

Although is is an obscenity, \"Flaming Assholes\" is the unofficial nickname for the 40th Infantry Division, based on the subdued version of the uniform patch. I totally understand why my edit was flagged. I used the word “ass”.

But it was in context. A version, (possibly the older, more correct version), of “the Pot calling the kettle black” is “The Pot Calling Black Ass to the Kettle”. In this context, “ass” refers to the bottom. Please see the actual article for more information if this does not suffice.

Thank You.

I updated to add some additional life info on this persons article and it was viewed as vandalism for some reason, how can a physical feature and achievements related to that be wrong in any way? Please be actual and mature in your allegations against an avid wikipedia reader.

It looks like Rach falk cut-and-pasted cite templates and then put the relevent details in them in a subsequent edit (replace the irrelevant ones). This triggered ClueBot for \"smallchange/obscenities\" but I don\'t see anything obscene.

I added an entry to crack to say that it was British slang for vagina or vulva, I also added a reference to substantiate this. I did not think I had marked it as a minor change but if I did, that was a genuine mistake. I have now added the entry again without using the word vagina but this is a little misleading because the slang definition refers to that word specifically.

I am not to worried if the reference is left without the word vagina as vulva is probably a closer definition of the British meaning of crack. However, I am concerned that my account has been tarnished as this was a genuine edit and not vandalism.

I expanded the bullet point under \"Salam in popular culture\" in the article \"As-Salamu Alaykum\" that listed the TV show the Boondocks. Only one case of the expression appearing in the show was cited, and I added another known instance of it appearing. The episode in question revolves around a (true-life) incident of a public school teacher calling a student the \"n-word,\" which was listed in the edit with a link the article on the word. Since it has an entire article on Wikipedia, it did not seem inappropriate to include it, and the context of the episode seemed relevant to understanding why this was an expository example in culture.

The fact is, there were 23,690 characters to delete in this particular article. It started with an entirely \"marketing-speak\" introduction, then repeated itself over and over and over again. Most of the article consisted of two bulleted lists which emphasised (usually by repeating the same point in a different way) the pros and cons of some very simple architectural points. In addition, there was a wordy history in the introduction, which I condensed and moved into the \"History\" section that already existed.

It... really was expanded by a factor of about 4-5 or so. The only regret I really have is that there didn\'t seem to be any useful place for the information on hostile-climate engineering, since it didn\'t seem to concern thin clients in particular more than as a \"pro\" to be included in the list there.

The article had a very extended section about Joseph Smith\'s treasure hunting activities during his youth. While it was true that he did do some treasure hunting, the treasure hunting activities had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of his life and the religion that he founded.

The article failed to include the very significant First Vision of Joseph Smith. His first vision is where believers say he obtained his prophetic calling, and also was the foundation for him receiving the golden plates four years later.

I hope that a human reads this and puts back the edit as I had it.

Hi. I just edited \'Greek Love\' to restore its credibility as an encyclopaedic article. The current version of the article has less to do with the concept \'Greek Love\' than with general and peripheral concepts such as Homosexuality and Pederasty (like an article titled \'Elephant\' but mostly dealing with the concept of mammals). My edit retains the context of Homosexuality and Pederasty but removes the excessive amount of irrelevant material. It\'s a constructive edit.
