The Battle of Chhamb was fought in an area of 10 KM by 8 KM. Pakistan suffered a total of about 4900 Casualties in the Western sector. Of these over 2200 or almost 50% were in this sector alone indicating the ferocity with which this battle was fought. The Regiment was one of only two combat units to be awarded the "Battle Honour Chhamb" besides the" Theater Honour Jammu and Kashmir 1971". It destroyed 29 enemy tanks at a cost of eight of its own tanks. Unfortunately it paid a very heaby price in terms of Casualties in terms of two officers and six Other ranks Killed In Action
