The 1899 Ashes series was a series of Test cricket matches contested between England and Australia for the Ashes. It formed part of the 1899 Australian tour of England. The five-Test series began on 1 June 1899 at Trent Bridge in Leeds and ended on 16 August 1899 at The Oval in London.
Australia won the series 1–0 to retain the Ashes they had won in 1897-98. This was the first time Australian had won an Ashes series in England. Australia would go on to retain the Ashes until 1903-04.
The tour saw the Test debut of Victor Trumper and the final Test of W. G. Grace.
