Notes
editThis is a modified version of Covery by Evad37 that adds the ability to generate different FUR/Licensing info for the uploaded image as well as an upload-only option for pages without infoboxes (or other issues).
Usage
editWhen viewing articles, a new toolbox menu item is added: "Upload cover (Custom)". Click this link to open a dialogue window, where you can select a file – a preview of the image will be shown. Fill out the rest of the form (including a valid file name that is not already in use on Wikipedia or Commons), then click the upload button.
The script will then:
- Resize the file, if the resolution is more than 100000 pixels
- Upload the file
- Create a talk page for the file with the project banner
- Add the image to the article's infobox (along with caption and alt text if they were specified)
- Edit the article talk page to remove the
|cover=
parameter from the project banner (if it is present)
When finished, the article will be reloaded.
Alternatively, another new menu item is added: "Covery (Custom) - Upload only". This will ignore checking for infoboxes and allow you to upload an image without adding it to the page or removing the cover tag.
