Creates articles with the same code as List of listed buildings in Gigha And Cara, Argyll and Bute, see Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/BotMultichill 9. For civil parishes (or unparished areas) and Communities of Wales. See Listed buildings in Wetheral for example.
Other ideas
edit- Images, can we use Commons when it has the Commons:Template:Listed building England (or from Wikidata) to identify images to add, checking the image's location would also be useful in making sure in incorrect image hasn't been assigned.
- Links to articles (that is to say cases when the buildings themselves have separate articles). Check the coordinates of the target article to ensure we don't link to a different building with the same name.
- How do we deal with parishes that only have (say) 1 (such as Midgeholme and Osmotherley) or 2 listed buildings (or none at all) such as Capel St Andrew. In cases where there is only 1 listed building then maybe its best to cover the only listed building in the parish article its self such as at Midgeholme#Listed buildings and have Listed buildings in Midgeholme as a redirect. In the case of Osmotherley the only listed building is the church which has a separate article, in this case Listed buildings in Osmotherley, Cumbria can redirect to the only building's article. In cases where there are no listed buildings in a parish should that be noted in the parish's article and the list title redirected there or should the list article be redirected to the county list, namely Listed buildings in Suffolk?
- What about redirects and DAB pages, should a categorized redirect exist from the listed building to the list? Is categorization useful, if the parish has a category (such as Long Melford) is it worth putting the redirects in it, meaning for example a Grade II listed building is in both Category:Long Melford (this might be duplicative/redundant categorization since the main list would be in the parish CAT) and Category:Grade II listed buildings in Babergh. See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2010 December 2#Category:Round Maple for example.
- How do we deal with parishes that have recently been merged or split, for example Thrimby was merged into Little Strickland in April 2019 and Melmerby was split from Ousby in April 2019 but we have both Listed buildings in Little Strickland and Listed buildings in Thrimby but only Listed buildings in Ousby. As of the 18th of May 2019 English Heritage still records Thrimby Grange to be in Thrimby parish (though the OS but not Mapit still has Thrimby as a parish).
- Similarly for parish boundary changes and new listing/delistings.
- The parish articles can have something added like "the parish has 104 listed buildings". An alternative (particularly for the other settlements in the parish) is to link to the list in the see also section like Listed buildings in Tatenhill is from Rangemore.
- Add the location of the building such as St James' Church being in the village of Avonwick and add the street too.
Title
edit- Always matches the name of the CP (or unparished area), not the name of the settlement (if it has a slightly different name) for example we would use Listed buildings in Aston upon Trent (name of CP), not Listed buildings in Aston-on-Trent (name of settlement). This may mean that disambiguation is needed or not needed in different situations to the main article.
Disambiguation
edit- Option 1, follow the main article even if its not ambiguous in the context of listed buildings such as Listed buildings in Cliburn, Cumbria, Listed buildings in Norwell, Nottinghamshire, Listed buildings in Cromwell, Nottinghamshire and Listed buildings in Boston, Lincolnshire. Not desirable per WP:SHORTFORM such as the List of songs recorded by Brandy example.
- Option 2, follow the main article except when the title would be unambiguous in the context of listed buildings such as Listed buildings in Cliburn (no other places other that the village's station so title is unambiguous), Listed buildings in Norwell (no other Norwells have listed buildings) and Listed buildings in Boston (no other "Boston"s have listed buildings, although a hatnote to Listed buildings in Boston Spa and National Register of Historic Places listings in Boston would be useful).
- Option 3, primary topic determination in the context of listed buildings can be used so in the case of Listed buildings in Chorley it is automatically considered primary because the town in Lancashire is at Chorley but in the case of Christchurch the other places that have listed buildings are much smaller so the article could go just at Listed buildings in Christchurch.
- Option 4, the listed building article is only disambiguated if there is another listed building article it conflicts with, such as even though Bulkington is about the village in Warwickshire, Listed buildings in Bulkington would be about the one in Wiltshire because the Warwickshire one is in Bedworth unparished area and thus there would only be Listed buildings in Bedworth for the Warwickshire one. In cases where the main article is primary then so would the listed building article even if there are other listed buildings articles.
- Option 5, the lists are always disambiguated if there are 2 or more list articles (even if the main article is primary) but are otherwise not. This means we would have Listed buildings in Chorley, Lancashire even though the main article is at Chorley.
- Appropriate redirects and DAB pages/hatnotes should exist, this means for example if for example we put the article at Listed buildings in Boston then Listed buildings in Boston, Lincolnshire should redirect there (this aides searching and prevents the creation of duplicate articles). If there are 2 or more and neither is at the base name then a DAB page should exist (such as Listed buildings in Silverdale). If one is at the base name and there are only 1 or 2 others, hatnotes can be used, otherwise a Listed buildings in X (disambiguation) page is needed.
